YA GIRL IS BACK with my 5th annual planner review post! The 2020 planner review is here. Thank you all for being so excited and supportive; I’m so happy to be back doing this post. It’s one of my favorites to write and, despite some COVID hiccups, I’m proud to present to you this year’s lineup!

In this post, I’ll be sharing my recommendations of the best planners whether you’re a college student or a working girl! Hopefully this post inspires you and helps you pick the PERFECT planner for you! Stick around to the end to see what planner I chose for myself this year.

1. Day Designer

Size + Specs: 9″ wide x 9.75″ tall. Hard cover, spiral bound with gold foil. Includes goal setting pages, inspirational quotes at the top of each day, time slots from 5AM to 9PM. A front cover pocket to keep any extra papers you need! Checklists every day, space for a daily gratitude and top 3 goals for the day. Saturday + Sunday are smaller and combined on one page. Their Mid Year planner runs from July 2020 through June 2021.

Favorite Features: The Day Designer will always have my heart! I love the beautiful cover options, the ample space for to do lists every day, and the time slots for each day. These planners are larger in size but are super durable, which I love! The Day Designer website also has TONS of amazing printables that you can use in conjunction with your planner.

Who Would Love This Planner: Someone who LOVES to do lists, loves writing everything down, can utilize a page for every day. Someone who plans religiously and has the means to cart a bulky planner around or is okay with leaving it on her desk most of the day.

2. Golden Coil

Size + Specs: 7.25″ x 9.75″. Depending on how many pages you add, the thickness can vary between 0.88″ – 1.25″. Hard cover, spiral bound. There are TONS of layouts and add-ons to choose from! This planner runs from August 2020 through July 2021 but you can choose your start month when you’re building your planner. It has a hard cover with gold foil details.

Favorite Features: This planner is extremely chic and well thought out. The paper is divine. Everything about it is just genuinely so pretty. There are lots of cover options as well as a diverse group of layouts and add-ons. This planner could work for anyone — from a busy college student to a stay-at-home mom; there are so many great features that would work for anybody. I loved that I could add on a meal planner/tracker at the end of each week so this could double as a food journal and a planner. I also am obsessed with the reading add-on… you can even color in the stars for your rating of each book!

Who Would Love This Planner: This planner would be best for someone with a chic, minimalistic style who typically uses their planner to juggle many different aspects of their life.

3. Rifle Paper Co

Size + Specs: 8.25″ x 10″. Spiral planner with hard cover front and back. Comes with an elastic band attached to hold the planner closed. Runs from August 2020-December 2021 (*18 months*). Reinforced tabs for every section in the planner. Monthly pages are grouped together at the beginning.

Favorite Features: I love how simple, classic, and all-around beautiful the Rifle Paper Co planners are. My favorite feature is honestly the cover. I could stare at it for hours; it’s so beautiful. I would have no problem bringing this in to a job interview or an important meeting! I also love that there are checkboxes built in every week to list your to-dos and plans.

Who Would Love This Planner: Someone who wants something beautiful and simple! Someone who likes horizontal layouts instead of vertical. Someone who wants something that’s gorgeous to look at and not too overwhelming. Someone who primarily uses their planner to keep track of daily to-do lists.

4. Limelife Planners

Size + Specs: Limelife offers 5 different size options. This planner is the 7 x 9 version. Limelife uses an ultra-smooth, bright white, 80# paper. The paper is also archival and acid-free. It handles ink well so there is less shadowing and bleed through. It’s perfect for all the pens you love to plan with! Tabs for every month and a notes section in the back.

Favorite Features: There are 6+ different layout options to choose from! Add on options are available as well. Covers are super cute and can be customized! There is a clear vinyl pocket page in the front that would be perfect to store stickers or any important papers you want to have easy access to. Each month starts and ends with a blank notes page. There is tons of room in the weekly layout for all of your to-dos and schedule.

Who Would Love This Planner: Someone who wants to support a small, women-owned and operated business! Someone who loves color and patterns and wants their planner to be a fun space to get organized.

5. Plum Paper

Size + Specs: Plum Paper offers 3 different size options. This planner is the medium size which is 7 x 9 inches. All covers are printed on a durable, synthetic material that is both waterproof and tear resistant. They are also coated with a protective coating that protects it scratching or from the ink rubbing off. On top of the cover is a 20 mil clear plastic sheet for extra durability. The paper is 70 lb text paper which is a thick paper that gives a smooth writing surface.

Favorite Features: Plum Paper planners are super durable and they offer a wide variety of cover styles and inside layout options. This planner is the Vertical Priorities planner which I have been loving the past two years! There are so many options for customization which is my favorite part. I’ve been wanting to do more reflection at the end of each month, so I’m excited to have additional reflection pages at the end of each monthly section. I also added coloring pages for fun 🙂

Who Would Love This Planner: Someone who loves function and wants to customize all aspects of their planner. someone who would appreciate the ability to add on different sections and options.
