Chit Chat + Life Updates No. 21

Due to all the insane stuff happening now with COVID-19, I wanted to share what has been going on with me lately! With so many things getting canceled, I have a lot of time on my hands over the next few weeks and I’d love to try posting on the blog as often as possible! If you guys have requests of things you want to read from me, please let me know!

A lot of bloggers are keeping things business as usual on their blogs, and I think I’m going to attempt to do the same. There are sooo many articles that have been popping up on my FB feed and Twitter every minute and I want this space to be a little reprieve! Just a little lighthearted spot to hang on the internet. Here’s what has been going on with me:

Life Updates

— I guess the biggest update right now is that my school is closed for two weeks! The PA Governor has mandated that all schools close until at least March 29th which is insane. I was excited at first to have some time off, but with my spin studio closed and everything else going on I don’t think this is going to feel like much of a fun break. Anxious to see how these two weeks play out and how it affects the end of the school year. I’m sharing a pic of Maggie (my coworker/life skills teacher) and I below from last week! It was Read Across America Week and we dressed up for Thing 1 and Thing 2 day. So crazy how things can change in so little time!

— Ryan and I are attempting to travel once a month for all of 2020. I wrote a blog post about this a few weeks ago. The virus has put a wrench into our March trip to Charlottesville because my brother’s baseball team is no longer playing any games as of right now. We are taking advantage of cheap flights, though, and trying to plan out our future trips for this year! Hopefully things are ok by summertime, but if not, we are paying cash and not using points in case we have to cancel flights again. Ryan said that getting points back on canceled flights is a lot harder than when you pay cash. As of right now, our trip to Seattle/Portland in early April is still on but we’re closely monitoring the situation.

— Side note: my brother’s baseball season was cut short which sucks. He’s a junior at UVA and junior year is usually the most important year for a lot of college athletes. He’s still hanging out and hitting with the team, but coaches aren’t allowed to facilitate anything. I’m really hoping that things are ok in a few weeks and they reinstate the spring athletics.

Recent Purchases

— Another bottle of Prose shampoo! I talked more about it in my Current Favorites post.

—  These block heeled sandals for a baby shower I went to a few weeks ago. I love them!

Fabletics sets. I really love Fabletics lettings and I’ve also been into their sports bras! Picture of me from one of my last classes at SoulBeat before they closed :'(

Passion Planner. I’m hoping to finally share a post about what’s going on with my planner over this COVID-19 break!

Reading + Watching

TV shows I’ve been watching —  Ryan and I LOVED watching Love Is Blind. We are also over halfway through watching The Circle but it’s def not as good as LIB. I have been loving the current season of This Is Us, too. We are also watching Schitt’s Creek (we tried watching it before and we didn’t get hooked so we’re trying again).

Movies we’ve seen — Since my last update post we’ve seen: Richard Jewell, Uncut Gems, Bombshell, Spies in Disguise, Little Women, Just Mercy, Birds of Prey, and Sonic the Hedgehog! We went to see the new animated version the week of Halloween. There haven’t been any good movies out since then so we’ve been slacking. We have the Regal Unlimited pass so we pay $21 a month to see as many movies as we want. Ryan has always loved going to the movies, so we’ve gone a lot together since we’ve been dating! It’s one of our Friday night traditions.

Books I’ve read — Check out all of my book update posts! I just finished Such A Fun Age by Kiley Reid. It took me over a month and a half to get through. I definitely wasn’t into it as much as I thought I would be, unfortunately! I ended up giving it 3/5 stars. I’m now onto reading After I Do by Taylor Jenkins Reid which I’m really excited about! It’s for the Bad Bitch Book Club. Can’t wait to catch up on reading these next few weeks as I’m 6 books behind my yearly goal!

What I’m Loving

— Just talked about some things in my Current Favorites post! Not gonna share them all again here, but def go read it for some fun products!
