20 Spin Classes Later | What I Bring to Class

soulbeat studio

Last Wednesday was my 20th spin class at SoulBeat Studio!!!! I started going back at the end of January and it has, quite literally, changed my life. I’ve never been pushed so hard while simultaneously having so much fun in my entire life. Working out was never something I enjoyed. It was always just that thing I should be doing. That definitely changed once I started going to spin.

I knew that in 2018 I wanted to find something different that would get me hype about working out. I had it on my bucket list to try a spin class and when I learned my friend Gabby was going to a studio nearby I realized that 2018 was the year for me to try spin! Music has always been a huge part of my life and it was always a big part of my workouts as well. If I didn’t have good music playing, the workout wasn’t the best. I love that during these rhythmic spin classes, you’re pedaling to the music the entire time. It’s SO fun and SUCH a great workout. I leave there drenched in sweat and on cloud 9 after every class.

There aren’t a TON of things you need for class, but these things can definitely help if you’re just starting out!

Water Bottle.

Obviously, make sure you have lots of water for class. I bring my 32oz Hydroflask and it’s pretty much empty by the time I’m finished. I also love that the Hydroflask keeps my water cold and refreshing when it’s hot and steamy in the spin room #clutch.

Towel (optional).

Most places will have towels for you (SoulBeat does!) but if you know you sweat a lot and you’re not sure if they provide them, it can’t hurt to bring your own with you!

fabletics outfit

Leggings & Tank Tops.

My preferred spin class uniform. Leggings are great because they keep you all sucked in and I always wear a tank top because it does get hot in there! My favorite leggings are the high waisted 7/8 leggings from Fabletics and my favorite tanks are from Forever 21, Old Navy, and Nike!!!

Pullover.

I usually wear a pullover (especially when it’s cold out) into the studio and once I’m warmed up, I’ll take it off! It’s usually a little chilly in there until you get warmed up so I’m always thankful for having a sweatshirt with me!

tiem spin shoes

Spin Shoes (after you become obsessed).

I bought my shoes after I had been spinning for almost a month. I think I had attended between 6 and 10 classes when I bought them. They were on sale and I just went for it! I knew I was already obsessed and I couldn’t see myself stopping class anytime soon. The shoes I bought are from TIEM but make sure you check with your studio before buying. I highly recommend these though and they’re super cute! If you use my link you’ll get $10 off a pair!

Gym bag.

Especially if you have spin shoes, you want a bag to keep them in! This is the one I use and it’s absolutely perfect for class. I used a gift card to purchase it and, of course, free shipping with prime!

If you’re on the fence about spin, just go for it! I was so nervous that I wouldn’t be able to hang and although the classes are definitely still tough, I’ve learned that it doesn’t matter if you can’t do everything and keep up 100%. If you try your best and do what you can, that’s the important part!!! If you’re nervous, bring a friend with you or just keep up the mentality that it’s YOUR workout. You can sit in the back and ride at your own pace. The room is usually going to be dark so no one can even see what you’re doing anyway. And even if they can, they’re too worried about themselves to notice what you are/aren’t doing. Trust me! As always, if you have any more questions comment below or shoot me an email!
