Over the past few years I’ve started using Goodreads more and making reading goals for myself to try to complete. I made it my goal to read 25 books in 2016. In 2015, I finished a whopping 20 and figured I could read 5 more. Well, that seemed to be a little bit harder for me to accomplish this time around! I ended up finishing 2016 having read a total of 17 books and 5,310 pages. Not too shabby, but obviously I was a little discouraged I didn’t reach my goal. I’m trying again to read 25 books in 2017, and so far at 6 days into the new year, I’ve read 2! I always read a lot over winter break (typically because Ryan and I do a lot of beach travel and I loveeee to read on the beach!) so this year was no exception.
This post contains Amazon Affiliate links. Happy second day of fall! Today I’m sharing my fall reading list. One of my favorite things to do is share my current TBR list with you guys. I always love seeing what people are reading and it motivates me to read more and add more books to my ever-growing list! If you love books and aren’t on Goodreads yet, you’re missing out. I know I talk about it in almost every book post, but I just love that site so much. It’s a great way to meet some bibliophiles and catch up with what books are popular and what books others are reading! Plus, it’s fun and rewarding to update your status that you finished a book or see your progress in the yearly reading challenge (side note: my goal is to read 25 books this year and I’m only at 12… #help). Anyway, I have a long list of books that I hope to read soon but I’m only going to share a few of them right now. I’m currently applying to grad school (and taking the GRE in a few weeks…) so I’m not planning to get a TON of reading done… View Post
At the beginning of the summer, I wrote a post about the books I had hoped and planned to read over the summer. I ended up reading 7 books, which is a far cry from the 12 books I wanted to read, but I’m still pretty pleased with that number! About halfway through the summer I wrote a review post of the books I read up to that point so I’ll link that throughout this list. I was really pleased with all the books I read this summer so if you get a chance to check any of these out, I know you won’t be disappointed. One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid I absolutely loved this book. The twists and turns, the characters, and the heartbreaking situation the main character was put in made it SO HARD for me to put this book down even for a few minutes. I’m pretty sure I devoured this book in two days, tops. I received an advanced eGalley of ONE TRUE LOVES and I seriously couldn’t wait to tell everyone I knew about this book. I had to spill my feelings about it to my mom because I felt like there weren’t enough people… View Post
If you read my May Rewind, you’d know that I read FOUR books this month. But actually, that number has increased to FIVE because I finished a book a few days after I posted the rewind. Five books in the month of May is well over what I expected so I’m really happy! I promised that I’d fill you guys in on what I’m reading this summer and what I think about each book so I’m going to do my best to review each book without giving away too many spoilers! Never Never (Part 2 + 3) by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher I read the second and third parts of the Never Never series this month. I finished the first part when I was in Cancun in January because I read through the stack of books I brought and it was up for free on Kindle! Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite authors but I couldn’t fall in love with this 3-part series. I did finish it, but I hated how it was broken up into three 150-page parts. It broke up the story too much, I think this could definitely read better as one solid book. I also wasn’t… View Post
I am extremely excited to be able to read more books this summer. Last summer, I read quite a few but I spent most of my time BUYING a lot of books instead of reading them. This summer, I’m making it my goal to read as much as possible. I’d love to be able to get through a book each week but sometimes I have weeks where the last thing I want to do is read (this usually only happens when I’m forcing myself to get through a book, though). I have 16 full weeks until my fall semester at Temple begins so I’m making it my goal to read 12 books. Hopefully I can surpass this goal but we’ll see how busy I end up being this summer! Some people believe that summer reads should always be light and easy to get through. I don’t necessarily have that belief. I will pretty much read anything that interests me over the summer from memoirs to young adult books. I also have way more books on my summer reading list than I know I’ll get to. I like to have options, ya know? Also, before I get to my summer 2016… View Post
