I’m not a huge country music fan. I typically roll my eyes whenever someone puts on “The Highway” or 92.5 XTU. However, this summer, I’ve been putting on a brave face and I’ve found that I’m actually sorta into country music? My brother is a baseball player and you know that they’re all about country music. My parents have also been embracing his new interest in country and have been playing it every time I’m in the car with them. I know some people are always like, “I love every kind of music, just not country”. And I promise you I was one of those people. But I’ve gotta tell ya that it’s really not that bad. You just have to find the good songs! And hopefully I’ve done all that work for you. Here are my top 5 favorite country songs right now. My Church — Maren Morris I wasn’t sure how I felt about this song the first time I heard it but it has easily become one of my favs! Wasted Time — Keith Urban I love jamming to this with the windows down! It was on repeat on my way home from New York. It’s such a… View Post

Welcome to another Music Monday! In the spirit of spring break (holla!) I wanted to share some of my favorite songs to listen to while on a road trip or just driving in the car with the windows down. If you’re heading out on an adventure for spring break, hopefully these songs will make it on your playlist! Can’t Stop Dancin’ — Becky G This song is one of my newest favorites! C’Mon — Ke$ha And oldie but still one of my favorites! Wild Ones — Flo Rida (feat. Sia) I love playing this song in the car because it’s one of my favorites to sing! Dashboard — Modest Mouse Another older song but it’s such a great one and it reminds me of summer! When Did Your Heart Go Missing? — Rooney Ryan and I were riding in his mustang today and he had this song on one of his old CD’s that was in there. I had totally forgotten about it! It’s such a fun dance song that I love to sing along to. Check out some other Music Monday posts: Workout Playlist Current Jams Study Playlist I love new music! It has been a few weeks since my last Music Monday post, so I wanted to jump back in and share some of my favorite songs that I listen to while I study. I haven’t always listened to music while studying (and I still don’t listen to it every time I’m flipping through index cards or reading the text book), but I find it helpful to listen to something especially for those long study sessions where it feels like the information is becoming overwhelming. Most recently, I was studying for a neuro exam and I just felt completely bombarded with info and I really wanted to relax myself and make the study experience a little more “enjoyable” (because, really, there’s no way to make studying fun). Cue my study playlist! I have a hard time listening to music with words while I’m reading or studying because, since I like music so much, I’m always focused in on the words or message a song is getting across. SO. All of these songs have no words and just a really pretty or fun melody. I hope you enjoy! Chocolate (Tribute to The 1975) — Vitamin String Quartet Okay, okay, so I didn’t say… View Post

Hey y’all! It has been a while since I’ve posted a Music Monday but I’m planning to make these more regular on the blog. Music is really important to me, it was one of my first loves since I was a little kid! It is my hope that with these posts, you’ll be able to discover some new songs you might not have ever heard before (and maybe get to know a little more about me in the process)! Bang My Head – David Guetta, Sia, Fetty Wap I’m lowkey (more like highkey…) obsessed with this song. ESPECIALLY the fact that it has Sia + Fetty Wap together. I listened to this a lot while on vacation in Cancun so whenever I play it now, I’m taken back to blue skies and even bluer waters. I need a little bit of that here in PA right now! New Friends – Kid Cadaver I actually just discovered this song really recently but I love that it’s so upbeat! Lush Life – Zara Larsson This is another song I just discovered! It’s so fun and I love the message I get from it. It’s all about being yourself and doing your thing! Rock Bottom –… View Post

One of the craziest things to me about Christmas is that we play the same Christmas songs over and over and over every year. It’s hard for artists to release their own new songs because we so rarely accept them. Some of my favorite Christmas songs are the ones we don’t hear on the radio 1000 times per day over the holidays. It is my hope to introduce you to some of these songs. Who knows, maybe you’ll find your new favorite? Christmas Lights – Coldplay This is arguably my favorite non-traditional Christmas song. Coldplay brings you the perfect balance of everything that’s needed in a beautiful Christmas melody! The First Noel (feat. Owl City) – tobyMac I have always loved singing this song in church and this version is great! Owl City and tobyMac, what could be better? Ho Ho Hopefully – The Maine This song is tied with Christmas Lights. I love The Maine’s whole Christmas album, you should definitely check it out! The Man With The Bag – Jessie J Jessie J KILLS this version. I absolutely love her voice! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays – *NSYNC I couldn’t NOT put this song on here. Come on. Mistletoe – Colbie Caillat I… View Post
