Welcome to Friday! How’s it going? I’m back with another chit chat post. This week I started a new job and I figured I should probably fill you guys in on what has been happening. So, here we go… I started working for Henkels & McCoy (yes, Ryan works for them too!) as an office clerk. Right now I’ve been helping with new hires, making lots of copies, and sorting forms. I have to work 6 days a week (yes, I work Saturdays) and I’m at the office for over 12 hours/day (mostly just waiting for Ryan to be able to leave) but it has honestly been kind of fun! I’m sure in a few weeks I’ll be wanting to just curl up in a ball and sleep forever but I really like everyone I’m working with and I don’t have to dress up and I get to make binders so like, what more could I ask for? The #KaylaBlogsAnnualPlannerPost is ALMOST HERE! Stay tuned. There have been some awesome developments over the last two weeks and I’m so excited about the brands I’ll be working with. I’m bringing back some brands from last year but I’m making sure there… View Post

Hopefully you guys are liking these because I’m back with yet another life update post! I have really been loving chatting with y’all about what has been happening around these parts (please read that in a strong southern accent). Here’s what’s new since the last time we chatted: I’ve been uploading weekly on YouTube! I have so many fun ideas for future videos this summer so make sure you’re subscribed. I graduated college! I still can’t believe it honestly but I’m so happy and relieved to be finished at Temple University. My brother graduated high school! This was a pretty big deal because we weren’t sure if he could do it (jk). He’s officially one step closer to starting school at the University of Virginia in just a few short weeks. Since he’ll be a student-athlete they want them to take a summer course so he’ll be moved in and ready to go at the beginning of July! Lord help us all. I start work next week. Ryan is already up in the Scranton area for work but I’ll be joining him next week to begin working on the project with him. I’ll just be an office “clerk” for the… View Post

I guess I’m making these update posts more of a thing now! I’ve had so much to update you on the past few months because I’ve been taking lots of blogging breaks (sorry y’all) but I also like just filling you in on the random stuff that’s happening in Kayla World. Here’s what’s new: I finished college! Still waiting for my final grades to be posted but I officially finished my first (and last) final today which means I’m FREE. It’s kind of bittersweet because I’m definitely going to miss Temple but I’m not going to miss my Behavior Analysis class lol. I graduate on Thursday/Friday! Thursday is the University-Wide commencement and Friday is the College of Public Health’s ceremony. Really excited for this weekend and to say a formal goodbye to Temple. I’m also thinking of vlogging during graduation. Is that crazy? Now that it’s officially summer I’m reading more! I already finished one book this past week (that puts me at 8/25 books for the year!) and I’ve started another already. I just started receiving Book of the Month boxes and if you like getting hardcover books for cheap I suggest you sign up. If you use my link you’ll get… View Post

Most of you know that I’ve been going through the process of applying to grad school. It was daunting and terrifying and at many points I was discouraged. I felt like I had done enough throughout my undergraduate career, I was involved in ALL of the things, I worked hard, and above all else I loved my future career. I stumbled upon speech pathology (you can read about how that happened) but I’ve loved it ever since and I felt like that was exactly the career for me. Throughout March and April I began to hear back from schools. Most of it was negative. I went into this knowing there was a chance I would not be going to grad school in the fall. Applying to graduate school for speech-language pathology is extremely competitive. It was hard seeing my friends get accepted because although I felt SO happy for them and so proud of them, I was also extremely discouraged in myself. I applied to 9 schools and at the beginning of April I had been rejected at 3 and waitlisted at 3. My optimism was fading. I became silent on the blog because I felt like I was failing.… View Post

I know, I know, I’m literally the worst. I can’t believe I’ve gone so long without posting but then again, I can. My life has been in a very weird limbo lately and I just haven’t been able to prioritize blogging. I’ve been doing a lot of self-care, a lot of reading, and a lot of Netflix watching. I’ve been going to the gym with Ryan, enjoying my birthday, and soaking in the nicer weather we’ve been having lately. There are a lot of reasons for the silence but I don’t think I’ll ever stop blogging completely. You can always find me on Twitter or Snapchat or even follow along on my Instagram stories. I’m working on getting new YouTube videos up because there’s a lot I feel like I need to talk to y’all about. However, right now I’m just going to stick to the good stuff and share some fun things I’ve been up to lately! I read some books! I finished The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty, I finished the audiobook for Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari, and I also read What Shamu Taught Me About Life, Love, and Marriage by Amy Sutherland. I want to post… View Post
