Around this time last year, I recapped my year of blogging. Sharing my favorite posts, most popular posts, and my social media stats for the year. I debated on whether to write the same type of post this year, but I decided to do it because it’s always nice to have these sorts of things to look back on. I also hope that by sharing my numbers with all of you, it’ll inspire you to keep track of your own growth! I don’t think it’s a good idea to obsess about numbers (I’ve stopped keeping track of my day-to-day numbers entirely), but I do think it’s important for you to see your own progress in a quantified way! But before I get into numbers, let’s talk about the most popular posts in 2016! Most popular posts. 1. Must Have School Supplies for Every College Freshman I wrote this post around the time I started this blog (almost 3 years ago!) but it only just started getting action this year after I cleaned up the post and created a pinnable photo. I’ll never stop telling people how important the pinnable photo is. I’ve seen posts go from getting 2 pins to 12,000… View Post

Merry Christmas everyone! This year I was really excited to participate in the Blogger Secret Santa hosted by Abigail and Cathleen! I had a blast shopping for Abigail, my Secret Santa pal. I’m so excited she loved the gifts I sent. You can check out her post and see the gifts I ended up purchasing for her! My Secret Santa was Gabby from The Swirl and I was SO excited when I found out my package was from her. I pretty much screamed when the box arrived and I saw her name on the return address. I ended up filming a video of my reaction to each of the gifts because I know I love seeing people’s reactions so I wanted Gabby to be able to see that I really, truly loved everything! Now, let’s get into the loot. The first thing I opened was the card because I’m a good person and I actually low key love cards. Gabby wrote me a really sweet note inside that I’ll definitely be keeping forever in my “box of cards”! I laughed when I saw the card because she had featured it on her Instagram a few days prior and I thought it… View Post

‘Tis the season for vlogmas! If you didn’t know already, vlogmas occurs from December 1st to December 25th and basically the only rule is to vlog each day. Aaaand guess who will be participating? This girl. There’s a lot of creative freedom that comes with vlogmas which is what makes it so great, but sometimes that can also be a reason for people not to participate. So I decided to come up with some fun video ideas you can use during vlogmas! I’ll probably be using them too, although probably not in this order. I started making YouTube videos over the summer because I wanted a new way to connect with my readers (that’s you). They’re a lot of fun and a lot different than blogging but in a good way. If you’re a blogger thinking about venturing into the YouTube world, vlogmas is a fun reason to start. All you really need is your phone and a YouTube channel although a video editing program helps a lot as well (I just use iMovie that came on my Macbook). Here are a few ideas to get you into the vlogmas spirit! Be sure to subscribe to my channel so you don’t… View Post

Today’s post comes from a discussion I had last night with Abigail, Caitlyn, and Lauren during the Blogger Roundtable. If you haven’t heard of the Blogger Roundtable, basically Abigail invites a bunch of bloggers to participate in a live Google Hangout and we talk about all things blogging and life related and anyone can tune in to see what we’re chatting about! You can catch the replay here. During last night’s chat, Lauren asked how we stayed motivated while on long breaks from school. I knew exactly what she was talking about and I felt like the lack of motivation during the holidays is totally normal. When you don’t have class to worry about, why bother doing anything else? But this season is a really important one for bloggers so it’s imperative that we stay on top of everything in order to finish all of the posts we want to get done! I’m sharing my tips on how I stay motivated to blog (or do anything, really!) when I’m on a break from school.

Even though I very rarely see the background of my computer (because I always have 1,000 tabs open and ready to go), I always love coming across beautiful wallpapers for my desktop. I usually check the same few sites each month and choose my favorites from there. I’ve been using this method since I got my Mac two years ago and I just realized that y’all would probably enjoy this prettiness! So, without further ado, here are my favorite sites for unique and beautiful desktop wallpapers.
