2017 Year in Review

2017 review

I can’t believe it’s already time for me to write another one of these, seeing as I can still recall exactly where I was and what I was doing when I wrote last year’s post. I love writing these because it gives me a chance to reflect on all the amazing things that have happened over the past year. There have been ups and downs, we lost my Nana over the summer which was very tough for me and my family, but all-in-all I can say that 2017 was a good year for me. I learned a lot about myself, as I do every year, and I saw the relationships I have continue to blossom. I am so thankful for my life and the people that continue to have a part in it. Now, without further ado, here are 2017’s biggest personal highlights:

New Years in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

Ryan and I kicked off 2017 by watching fireworks on a balcony overlooking the beach. I got so much reading done on this trip and we tried some fun food places of course! The weather was just about perfect and I always love getting to kick off the New Year in a relaxing way (and getting to do lots of reading!)

Road Trip from Florida to NOLA.

One of the biggest highlights of my year was the road trip Ryan and I took from Florida to New Orleans and then up to Nashville. Our first stop was New Orleans (you can read more about that trip!) and I had so much fun touring around the city and eating as many beignets as possible.

Road Trip from NOLA to Nashville.

This year, Ryan and I fell in love with Nashville. We spent a few days here during our road trip and we discovered some pretty awesome places while we were there (read about it!) Surprisingly, this was one of my most popular posts this year! V excited to share the Nashville hype with everyone. It is such a cool place.

Danced in Hootathon.

This was actually on my bucket list and I got to check it off this year! I had a lot of fun dancing FTK surrounded by some of my closest college friends.

Nashville for Spring Break.

We loved Nashville so much that we went back a few weeks later for my spring break and we brought my roommate Jess along! This time we had a whole week to explore and we loved getting to show Jess around the city!

Got Into Grad School + Started Grad School.

Ummmmmm. Yeah. That happened. One of the most stressful times of my LIFE came in 2017. Lots of worries, self-doubt, and tears lead to this moment. I feel very lucky to be able to live my dream!

Summer in the Poconos.

I got to spend the summer working with Ryan on a job up in the Poconos! It was a busy summer and we didn’t have much free time to explore, but it was fun for me to be able to get a glimpse of Ryan’s world and learn what he does on a day-to-day basis! We also got to go to a Drive-In movie theater which was on my bucket list for a while.

Moved to West Chester with Ryan.

Perhaps one of the biggest highlights was that Ryan and I moved into our apartment in West Chester. We absolutely love where we live and it’s so much fun during the warmer weather. We can WALK to brunch. Hello? Is this heaven?

Weekend in Charlottesville.

My brother started school at the University of Virginia and my family went to visit him for the weekend! It was honestly one of my proudest moments to see him in that UVA uniform. He works so hard and it really has paid off!

Oklahoma + LA.

Ryan and I are closing out the year with another trip. Right now I’m in Oklahoma visiting with his family and then on Christmas Day we are flying out to LA to spend the rest of my break there! Definitely keep an eye on my social media for some updates on where we are and what we’re doing.

Peace Out, 2017!

That’s a wrap for this year. I can’t believe all the amazing things that have happened. Tell me some highlights from your year in the comments! And if 2017 wasn’t a great year for you, I hope you stay optimistic that 2018 will end up being life-changing.

It sounds like you had a great 2017 with a lot of fun new opportunites and exciting trips! I love love love Nashville, and would love to go back and take time to explore more sometime. Next time you go, you have to go to Santa’s Pub. It’s a hole in the wall karaoke bar and it is perfection!
