Some Recent Purchases

I love when bloggers write posts about the things they’ve bought recently. And not just clothing. I wanna know you bought a new crock pot or something and you love it. I know, I’m weird. And super nosy. Anyway, here’s some things I’ve gotten recently and have been using a lot!

(just a warning, some of these items are linked through Amazon affiliates!)

AirPods.

So I didn’t buy these for myself, Ryan actually got them for me as a replacement birthday present. He originally got me tickets to see Ed Sheeran but I couldn’t go because the concert was on a Wednesday and I was working. ?  But anyway! I had been wanting some wireless headphones because ever since I got the iPhone plus it was a pain in the butt to workout with. I couldn’t fit it in my pocket and I was sick of holding it. Ryan has the wireless Beats earbuds but I didn’t like how they fit in my ears. I loved my Apple headphones though so I thought the AirPods would probably be my best bet for wireless headphones that I actually liked and would use.

I absolutely LOVE them guys. Ryan is really jealous and will probably want a pair of his own for Christmas. The only thing I don’t like is you can’t control the volume on them and it’s a little hard to play/pause songs unless you want to take one of the earbuds out completely. BUT the charge on them lasts FOREVER. They sit in the case and they charge in there and then once the case dies you charge the case. I’ve had these for about a month and I haven’t had to charge the case once yet. I probably would love these even more if I had an Apple Watch because I could just control my music (play/pause/skip) on the Watch and I wouldn’t have to worry about whether the AirPods could do it. But anyway, if you’re on the fence about these I’d definitely get them! They were on sale when Ryan ordered them for me from Best Buy.

Colourpop x My Little Pony.

So my favorite affordable makeup company, Colourpop did a collab with My Little Pony. Now, I wasn’t (and still am not) really into MLP but I am all about the eyeshadows, highlighters, and lip colors in this collab. I wanted to try everything but I settled on getting the Super Shock Shadows from the collection. If you’ve never tried the SSS from Colourpop they’re like eyeshadow on steroids. They’re super pigmented, soft, and really easy to apply. The SSS I have now I literally just apply with my finger. The stuff I ordered is currently sitting in my apartment complex’s mailroom but I’ll hopefully get to pick it up tomorrow and I’ll swatch the colors on my Instagram stories!

Without Merit.

Colleen Hoover (aka one of my favorite authors of all time) released a new book and I ordered it over the weekend when it was on sale on Amazon (less than $10 people… keep it on your wishlist and wait for a price drop!) I haven’t started it yet but it’s going to be one of the first books I pick up once I’m done HP. Which, by the way, I’m ALMOST DONE book 6 as I write this. I will probably finish it tonight after I am done classes. Yay!!!!

A 5-Year Journal.

I’ve talked about journaling on the blog a number of times but I’ve never actually stuck with it. I used to journal so much when I was a kid in these composition notebooks but journaling has just fallen by the wayside for me as I’ve gotten older. I saw some Buzzfeed article about 5-year journals and it rekindled the journaling flame within my soul. If you don’t know what a 5-year journal is, the concept is that you write just a few lines every day and you go back through the same pages each year. So for example, there would be a page for today, October 11th, and there would be 5 boxes on it for each of the 5 years. So you’d come back to that page and write an entry in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. It’s cool because you can see what you were doing on that exact day each of the past 5 years you wrote.

This concept seems like it’ll be perfect for me because it’s super easy to keep up with and I think these next 5 years will be really exciting and when I’m hoping to change and grow as a person the most. I’ll be going through grad school, getting my first big-girl job, and (hopefully) getting engaged/married/moving/SOMEthing exciting. This is the journal I ordered from Amazon but I also really like this one (it’s much more affordable and portable!) and there’s also this journal if you prefer prompts!

What have you bought for yourself recently? I’m always looking for recommendations and, like I said, I’m super nosy. Leave me a comment and let’s chat!

I LOVE the idea of a 5-year journal. I’ve also journaled on and off since I was younger, but that sounds like such an easy way to do it!

I have been trying to decide if air buds are for me! I lose things really easily so I’m not sure if it’s worth the investment. But I agree, I hate working out with headphones and my iphone.

I’m embarrassed to say that I couldn’t even keep up with a 5 year journal! It’s still on my nightstand though so maybe I just need to dive back in.

I like the idea of a 5 year journal, but I’m useless at that kind of thing… It’s probably stay mostly empty! 😀

First of all, I need air buds. Second of all, Colleen Hoover is one of my fave authors. I didn’t know she came out with a new book. I’m ordering asap! Thanks!

I’m 100% an Apple girl but the AirPods are just something I’m not sure about, haha. I’m intrigued now though – I might need to give them a second look!
