Happy Friday! Does anyone else feel like July is FLYING by? I mean, seriously, I feel like it was just the Fourth of July. Can time slow down? Pleaseandthanks. Here’s what has been going on with me lately:

  • I guess first thing’s first: my Nana passed away last night. She has been sick for a while and has been battling lung cancer for years. My Pop Pop died 3 years ago so I’m happy that they are finally reunited. I’m strangely at peace with it all. I knew it would be coming sooner or later so I guess that has been helping me to not feel too upset. She had a laryngectomy (fellow SLPs will know what I’m taking about!) about 2 years ago so she has not been able to speak. I hope that once I become an SLP I can do more work with laryngectomees in her memory.
  • Ryan and I are slowly getting our West Chester apartment unpacked and ready! I’m really excited because the place is the perfect size for us, has 4 huge windows with tons of natural light, and is within walking distance to town and some great brunch spots (check out the ‘gram for a snap of my cinnamon bun pancakes)! I can’t wait to do an apartment tour as soon as it starts looking a bit more put together!
  • I ordered a Moleskine journal a few weeks ago and yesterday I worked on figuring out how I want to set it up. I don’t think I could do bullet journaling for my schoolwork and assignments, but I DO want to use it for other things like what I did that day, my reading list, and for tracking habits and mood. I joined a bunch of FB groups yesterday to get some inspo and have been pinning stuff on Pinterest like crazy! If you have any fav posts or Pinterest boards on bullet journaling, leave them in the comments!
  • I’m halfway through Harry Potter book 3! Ryan and I are still trying to finish the second movie too. He was gone for two days this week so we didn’t get to watch after work.
  • I FINALLY got a mani/pedi yesterday. I’ve been in desperate need of one for weeks so it feels really nice to have pretty nails! I chose this color for my fingers and toes! It’s a really pretty bright coral.
  • I’m so beyond tired of the NSale posts which stinks because today the sale opened to the public. Almost everything every blogger has shared is sold out so that made me do a HUGE eye roll this morning. You’re all sharing the same stuff and none of us plebeians can even buy it!!!! I did get two things though: this cute top that I didn’t even see anyone share (we’ll see how it fits) and this thermal top which is apparently really comfy.

Three things I learned this week:

  • I don’t remember much of the third Harry Potter book even though I def read it before.
  • Heluva Good french onion dip is my newest weakness!!!!
  • There are a lot of people who aren’t perfect bullet journal-ers and I’m about to be one of them! Let me know in the comments if you want to see a post on my method (once I figure one out that is)

Answer these in the comments:

Chips, pretzels, or popcorn? Bright or neutral nail polish? Favorite thing to do on a rainy day?

So sorry about your Nana! ? I’m going with pretzels (but it was a hard one!), neutral nails, and watching Netflix on a rainy day!

    • July 28, 2017 / 7:41 am

It’s so hard for me to choose but I love neutrals too! Thank you <3

I still have NEVER read any of the the HP books! I think I’m too old now to really ‘get’ it, you know? Like, the magic won’t happen for me I don’t think, vs. if I had read them for the first time when I was a kid.

    • July 28, 2017 / 7:42 am

I haven’t read them all yet either! But I’m tellin’ ya, I’m still having a blast. Everything in the wizarding world is so intricate it’s awesome. I finally feel like I’m gaining access to an elite club haha. You should read them if you want to, even if you feel like you’re too old!

I never thought I could do a bullet journal, but lately I’ve been wanting something to track things like my sleep and headaches and eating habits to see what’s causing my migraines and stomach issues. It makes me feel better that’s there’s a whole group of people who aren’t so great at bullet journaling. And my answers:
    soft pretzels
    neutral
    read or watch tv/movie

I’ve tried so hard with mine but it’s not even close to how I wish it would look. Trying to get over that though! That’s pretty much what I want mine for too. I’m tracking habits and mood and writing lists of things and talking about my day briefly. It’s more of a diary/journal for me than a planner

I’m so sorry about your Grandma, Kayla! I hope you and your family are doing okay. The third Harry Potter book/movie is 100% my favorite one! I’d love to see a post about your bullet journal methods!

So sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you and your family are okay.

I loooove the Harry Potty movies! A Harry Potter movie marathon is actually my favorite thing to do on a rainy day

I’m sorry to hear about your Nana but at least she’s with your pop pop and at peace.

As for your questions: popcorn, neutral, & either reading, journaling, or movie marathons!

    Hi Kayla,
I’m sorry for your loss and wish you the best in coping with such a difficult loss. I’m not sure I’d ever be good at Bullet Journaling, although I adore looking at them and would love to be great at it!

To answer your questions: popcorn, bright nail polish, and reading or watching movies all day, curled up under a huge blanket with a mug of hot chocolate or tea.

Thanks Kaitlin! I’m definitely struggling on the BuJo front, but I’m hoping if I do a post on what mine looks like it might inspire other non-artistic people to get into journaling! Reading all day with hot chocolate in hand sounds like the best day to me

I definitely want to check out your bullet journal when you get everything all set up! And I really need to start re-reading HP. And excited to see an apartment tour in the future!

    • July 28, 2017 / 7:48 am

I will write a post for sure! I just need to figure out my method first. Almost there!

I definitely feel you on the Nordstrom sale, I posted 1 post about it-but that’s going to be it because so far my blog feed has been filled with it and I can’t take seeing the same pair of booties forty times!

Agreed! It’s frustrating but I get it! Everyone wants to make that affiliate link $$$

  13. July 22, 2017 / 2:50 pm

I need to read the Harry Potter books again! Iv’ve been wanting to day it for years now!

  14. July 22, 2017 / 4:35 pm

Ugh girl I feel ya on the #NSale posts! I only bought a really cozy cold-shoulder sweater and some plain black Zella leggings that I’m hoping will last me forever. I have a May Designs lined notebook that I love but right now it’s just filled with boring lists! I’m looking for a way to jazz it up a little, so I’m currently stalking your Pinterest 🙂

  17. July 22, 2017 / 11:25 pm

    • July 28, 2017 / 7:49 am

Re-read it!! I’m having a blast going through the series right now!

  18. July 23, 2017 / 8:58 pm

I just did my nails too! I needed it bad haha. On a sad note, I’ve never read a Harry Potter book. :/

    • July 28, 2017 / 7:50 am

OMG! I hadn’t read further than the fourth book so I’m attempting it now! You should join me! It’s fun!

I’m so sorry to hear about your nana! Good for you for continuing your education in her honor! I love Harry Potter!!!! I’d say it’s a close tie between chip and pretzels, but probably chips. And, oh. my. goodness. You are the first person I have ever come across who likes heluva good french onion dip. It is my favorite thing in the universe, and I would eat it by the spoonful if I could, it is sooooooo good!!! Have you tried it with kettle potato chips?? I think you should if you haven’t already!! • July 28, 2017 / 7:50 am

Thank you Skye! I have only been eating it with wavy lay’s but I should def try the kettle cooked chips, that sounds delicious!
