Music for Your Weekend

temple flag

Something you might not know about me is that I’m a singer and musician. I taught myself guitar back in middle school and I’ve been playing it ever since. I love jamming out to my favorite songs regardless if I’m playing them on guitar or belting along with the radio while. I felt like there was a lull in good music a few months ago but now there are new, amazing songs being released left and right! I figured I’d take some time to share my favorites with all of you and give you a chance to talk about your favorite artists as well. You can check out some of my past music posts here!

I’m constantly updating my “Current Jams” playlist on Spotify so if you enjoy these music posts and want a more up-to-date way to keep track of what music I’m loving, you can check out my playlist by clicking this link or listening to the embedded playlist below!

Okay, a lot of the songs I’m going to be sharing here are also on the playlist mentioned above, but that’s perfect because you can listen to them individually and then put my playlist on shuffle!

Green Light – Lorde

OKAY. I’ve been dying for new Lorde music for a longgggg time now and I’m happy to report that her newest single does NOT disappoint! Ryan and I saw her in concert two years ago and she was awesome. Hopefully we’ll get to see her again soon!

God, Your Mama, and Me – Florida Georgia Line

I literally listen to every genre of music so don’t be surprised if you come across a country song in any of my playlists! I love this one by FGL because it also features one of my fav boy bands of all time, The Backstreet Boys! Seriously. Check out the music video if you don’t believe me.

It Ain’t Me (with Selena Gomez) – Kygo

This song is a real bop. I can’t stop listening to it! I know this one is going to be overplayed in like 5 minutes but I still am loving it!

Stay (with Alessia Cara) – Zedd

I am obsessed with Alessia Cara’s voice so I fell in love with this song FAST. It’s great.

On + Off – Maggie Rogers

Super pissed I didn’t get tickets to her show when they first came out because they’re selling for almost DOUBLE what they were originally. I watched a video of her and Pharell a few months ago on Facebook and since then she has skyrocketed. She’s super down to earth and her music is really unique and I love it. Check her out if you haven’t already!

Divide – Ed Sheeran

I had to wait to post this until I could listen to his new album! I was happy with the songs, they were all super Ed! Galway Girl is probably my favorite, but make sure you listen to them all to see which one is your favorite. Then let me know in the comments!

I LOVE It Ain’t Me and Stay! I’m currently listening to Lorde’s Green Light, so I’ll make sure to let you know what I think about it! 😉 My current favorites include Love On Me by Galatis & Hook ‘n Sling (legit OBSESSED with this one!), Ain’t My Fault by Zara Larsson, and Ocean Drive by Duke Dumont!

I love Lorde’s music so much, but honestly…I wasn’t dragged in by her new song. I easily got distracted while listening to it. But I’m hoping that’ll change the more I listen to it. I love the tone of her older music – eerie and moody!
