How I Use My Blog Planner

How I Use My Blog Planner

Blogging can be time consuming and things can get totally crazy if you don’t keep your ideas, content, and social media channels in check. Bloggers have different ways of scheduling their content. Some use online resources (such as Google calendar), some bloggers use notebooks, some bloggers do their blog planning right in the same agenda they use for school work, clubs, and other personal stuff! It doesn’t matter how you do it, I just know that in order to stay sane, you have to put your ideas somewhere.

The planner.

Personally, I use a May Designs agenda. I bought one two years ago to use for school and have since realized that they’re a little too tiny for my every day academic needs. However, it’s the PERFECT blog planner. I’ve been using mine for a year and am thrilled to have a brand-new one to use for 2016-2017. Since this planner doesn’t begin until August, it’s pretty blank right now so some pictures will be of my old planner so you can get the gist of how it actually looks when there’s a ton of stuff scrawled all over the page! In the photo, my old one is in the back and my new one is front and center!

Monthly view.

I use the monthly view to keep track of payments and sponsored posts. The top picture is from my old planner and the bottom picture is from my new planner, that’s why the monthly views look different!

Weekly view.

I use the weekly view to plan out my blog posts and write down which posts I want to go live on which day. As you can see, it gets a little messy and I change things around, but it’s the method that works for me right now! This is the weekly view in my old planner since I haven’t gotten the chance to plan anything for August yet in my new planner!

It’s hard to get into a good schedule sometimes, but planning out my posts at the beginning of the week is what helps me stay on track! It’s also nice to have those post ideas in your head throughout the week so you can think of what you want to write before you even have to write it!

This is such a cute planner! I personally used to plan my blog content right in my school planner, but I started using calendar monthly spreads and I love this method a lot better! I may have to look into buying a small planner like yours though because I would love to use a weekly spread as well!

I currently use a blog planner that I was given by an agency that I work with, but I’ve taken lots of great tips about HOW to use it from this post!

I really only use my planner for personal things but i can see the benefit to using it for the blog. Especially with tracking payment from sponsored posts.

Loved seeing this! I do all my blog planning on a giant Excel sheet and then I use my planner for appointments and things like that!

I love May Designs, I have gotten notebooks for myself and gifts as well as some stationary and photobooks! I love the patters and you can customize them! I use my regular planner as my blog planner as well. I like to see what I have going on (dinners, events, and that helps to figure out when I think that I will have extra time to write a post or 2!
