College Room Essentials with Bed Bath & Beyond

College Room Essentials Bed Bath and Beyond

This post is in partnership with Bed Bath & Beyond, a brand I love. All opinions here are my own.

It’s scary to think that in a little over a month I’ll be entering my senior year of undergrad at Temple. This will be my second year in my apartment on Park Ave, but I’m hoping that this year I’ll be able to make my room a little more homey and exactly like the style I want. I had lots of plans last year to put pretty things up on my walls but it didn’t end up happening. This year, I’m committed to making my senior year room the prettiest ever and it won’t be without help from Bed Bath & Beyond!

I’ve gone to Bed Bath & Beyond for my back-to-college essentials ever since my freshman year. It has been the easiest place for my mom and I to shop for anything and everything I might need whether I’m moving into a dorm or a new apartment! There’s always a ton of different styles and options no matter what your price point is, and that’s definitely one of the things I love most about Bed Bath & Beyond.

Yesterday I walked around the store for a solid 2 hours just taking in all the adorable decor and comforters. There were so many cute things that I put together a collage for y’all! Here are my top college dorm/apartment essentials.

1. Bedding that fits your style.

It’s so important to find bedding that you’re in love with. Bedding practically sets the tone for 90% of your room, so you want to make sure it’s a color and pattern that you won’t be sick of! My roommate Kelly and I coordinated our bedding for freshman year and went with a black + white theme. If you want to coordinate, I say go for it! It was nice to have a cohesive style throughout our dorm but I could’ve lived with a little mismatch too.

2. Cute throw pillows.

I absolutely love throw pillows and body pillows. They’re cute and also make your bed much more cozy and comfortable!

3. Cork board.

Whether it’s for tacking up your schedule + your roommates schedule, or just using it as a place to showcase photos from home, a cork board is a must. I love this one from Bed Bath & Beyond!

4. Twinkle lights/string lights/fairy lights.

Call me crazy, but I’d definitely put these in the MUST HAVE category. It’s honestly amazing how much of a difference adding twinkle lights can make. I usually plug these in at night when I’m reading or watching Netflix along with lighting a candle in my favorite fragrance. It’s so relaxing and makes my room really feel like home.

Now, without further ado, here were my picks at Bed Bath & Beyond!

My Picks

After much debate, I ended up getting a new comforter, new sheets, and some twinkle lights because, like I mentioned above, you can’t go wrong with those! As soon as I got home I set it up in my summer apartment and it instantly felt more like home. I can’t wait to use this stuff in my room this year!

These sheets are my absolute favorite and I’m so excited to have another set. They’re incredibly soft and they cool me down whenever I get too hot in the middle of the night!

I decided to go with a white comforter because it’s classic and it’ll go with any pops of color I decide to add within my room. My mom has always warned me against a white comforter but, come on, it’s perfect for flat lays! #bloggervibes

Bed Bath & Beyond has a TON of great resources for college students including an amazing Student Life Checklist. However, my favorite feature is the Pack & Hold option for students who are attending school far away from home! You shop for the items you want at a store near your house, then pick them up at a store near your college. So convenient and you won’t have to give up any precious car space!

Be sure to sign up for Bed Bath & Beyond’s email list. First-time subscribers get a 20% off coupon to use on a single item in-store!

I always had twinkle lights up in my dorm room. The best thing was laying in bed at night and reading with the twinkle lights on. Such a magical ambiance!

I’ve loved Bed Bath & Beyond for so long, they always have absolutely everything! That bedspread you got is so pretty, white makes a great backdrop for all other decor 🙂
