How to Make Chores More Fun

hoover vacuum post

One of the best parts about college is having your own place. But, with your own place comes some huge responsibility. That includes chores. I don’t love doing them and they don’t always get done (unfortunately) but I am pretty good at coming up with ways to make some things a little more bearable. This includes chores. Below I’ve come up with some serious (and not so serious) ways to make doing chores more enjoyable!

Dance party.

There’s honestly nothing better than getting stuff done while blasting some of your favorite tunes. If you get your roommates in on it, there’s an even higher chance of fun!

Treat yo self.

After every chore treat yourself to a snack or watch an episode of Friends. It might make the chores take longer, but I’m sure you will enjoy it more!

Have a significant other help.

If you’ve ever gone grocery shopping with your S.O. you’ll probably know where I’m going with this. I don’t know what it is, but doing the most mundane things with your boyfriend/girlfriend can turn into crazy fun adventures.

Turn it into a game.

Roll the dice, flip a coin, play Sorry! and have whoever loses do a chore of the other’s choosing.

Get a Hoover cordless vacuum.

One of my least favorite parts of doing chores is vacuuming.  First, the cord is tangled up from whomever put it away last. Then, the cord isn’t long enough to reach from the outlet to where you want to go. It’s a whole ordeal JUST to vacuum your living room. Unless you have a Hoover cordless vacuum.

Hoover Cordless Lift Vacuum

This vacuum changed my life. I’m a typical college student. I don’t get excited about new cleaning supplies (office supplies are another story…) but believe me when I say that this vacuum has honestly made cleaning the house FUN. Yes, I said “fun” and “cleaning the house” in the same sentence.

This thing has a rechargeable battery pack that works on all Hoover cordless products! It also easily transitions from hardwood floors to carpet… our floor has never been cleaner. Seriously. If you’re in the market for a new vacuum this one definitely takes the cake for quality, portability, and convenience!

Do you have any ways you like to make chores more fun?

I always love making my chores into a dance party. You may see me vacuuming while dancing to some Justin Bieber song. This vacuum sounds so awesome. Cordless?! I always get stuck in the cords of mine.

I need a new vacuum — we’ve been eyeing the Dyson ball and are hoping to get that from my parents as a wedding present.
