The Guys Behind the Blog: Holiday Edition

The Guys Behind the Blog -- October Edition

Happy Ryday! I know, I know, it has been a while since Ryan has posted on the blog! But he’s back and ready to answer some great holiday themed questions for Guys Behind the Blog! For those of you who don’t know about this link up, it is hosted by Betsy at Heavens to Betsy and each month she comes up with a list of questions for her husband to answer on her blog. Here are the questions for December and Ryan’s answers!

1. What’s on your Christmas list this year?

I don’t really have anything on my list this year. Each year it gets harder to think of things. If I really want something, I typically just go and buy it for myself during the year. The only things I could throw on a list are too expensive to be asking for from anyone else! Since I just bought a house I could use more expensive items like furniture. I like to get creative with my gifts to others and don’t like being given a list. I prefer force others to do the same by not supplying any type of list! Good luck Kayla.

2. Did you believe in Santa as a child? Do you have any funny Santa stories?

I believed in Santa until first grade but had to pretend he was real until my sister figured it out. I don’t have any funny Santa stories but when I used to travel each year to see my family in Oklahoma, my grandma was a manager of the local theater. Back in 2000, The Grinch was released right around the time when we travelled home to see the family. I think I watched The Grinch about seven or eight times in the theater that week lol.

3. What is a Christmas tradition you hope to pass on someday?

I’m not big on traditions and they tend to fall apart as the children of the family age but maybe if I have children we can start some traditions of our own.

4.  Do you open presents on Christmas morning or a different time?

When I was younger we would travel to see family on Christmas day so once my sibling and I both discovered Santa was a fraud we started opening our presents on Christmas Eve to avoid having to rush before our flight.

5.  What is your favorite Christmas song?  Movie?

I don’t typically listen Christmas music on my own but if somebody has it on I don’t mind it. I’d prefer to listen to it on while cooking up some Christmas foods, decorating, or at a gathering. My favorite Christmas movies are Elf, Santa Clause (#1), and Jingle All The Way! This answer prompted me to search for Turbo Man on eBay and its crazy to see the toys selling for $150-$200!

I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing some answers and it has maybe prompted you to ask someone else the same questions. I didn’t know that he used to open his presents on Christmas Eve or that those were his favorite Christmas movies! I love learning more about him through these posts and allowing you all to learn more as well!

So awesome that you have Ryan join in on the blogging! Although my family was the opposite–as we all grew up, we turned EVERYTHING into a tradition and made my parents recreate everything!

Congratulations on buying a house, that is such an exciting milestone. I never make a Christmas list either (it just feels weird as an adult to me) so I understand wanting others to be creative.
