Tricks, Treats, and Tailgates

Halloween weekend (or Halloweekend, if you prefer) is one of my favorite weekends of the year. I love it because my boyfriend gets super into dressing up with me and we always try our best to make sure our costumes look authentic. However, THIS Halloweekend was especially fun because it was full of tailgating since Temple played Notre Dame at home on Saturday! My whole family came down and we spent the day tailgating and eating tons of food before the big game. It meant a lot to me to have been surrounded by the people I love all weekend. It has been a rough semester (I’ve said this multiple times but it’s true!) and it’s weekends like these that remind me how important it is for me to keep pushing on.

Tricks and treats.

Ryan showed up at my apartment on Friday afternoon and we ordered food (of course). Shortly after we began getting ready in our Halloween costumes! Ryan and I dressed as Danny and Sandy from Grease!

My roommate Kelly rocks at hair and makeup so she always helps me go the extra mile every year! My hair rarely ever does what I want it to but with a whole lotta hairspray, it stayed big all night. For my makeup, she did a slight smoky eye and a bright red lip that I loved. It was also exactly what Olivia Newton-John wore during the movie which made me love it even more! I’m not super into makeup but it definitely made me feel like I actually was Sandy! Kelly is also an actress and had some e-cigarettes on hand from one of her previous shows. That also allowed us to look the part without actually having to buy cigarettes. It was so much fun to dress up and this couples costume was something I wanted to do for a long time. Props to Ryan for allowing me to choose our theme this year!

Tailgates.

On Saturday, we headed down to Lincoln Financial Field around 1:30 to begin our tailgating adventures. I had so much fun hanging out with Ryan, his friends, and my family all afternoon. I thought I was going to be so tired and, quite frankly, bored because we were going to be tailgating for so long (the game didn’t start until 8pm!) but it actually flew by.

Although Temple didn’t win, I still had an amazing weekend and hope you all did too! What were your Halloweekend plans? What did you dress up as? I want to know!

LOVE your costumes!! Still trying to convince my bf to do the whole couple costume thing. Remember when I told you on twitter that he was white trash last year? This year, he was ketchup. I mean…do whatever floats your boat, right?

HAHAHA omg, that’s hilarious. I mean… you could’ve gone as mustard and I guess that would have counted as a couples costume? Maybe someday he will give in… judging by his past costume choices he could probably come up with something super creative!

Your costume is so cute! I love that you guys get dressed up for tailgates. My school didn’t have too much school spirit around sports.

The couples costume is so cute, I love it! I was Catwoman this year, because my costume was warm and the weather was definitely not ideal. And I’m glad you had fun tailgating, it’s usually a good time as long as the weather cooperates!

Awh I love your costume, it’s so cute! The hair is perfection, I always struggle with doing mine as well. It looks like you had a pretty busy Halloweekend (I love that!). I didn’t dress up, but I did go and watch Psycho with a couple of friends.

Your costume was so cute! I’m glad you had fun at the Temple game. It was so funny seeing attendees dressed up while watching the game on TV.
